Students with autism won Latifa Awards
Dubai – 8 June: Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Child Creativity 2010/2011 honored students in the Dubai Autism Center for their creativity in photography. Rahul Bojwani and Mohammed Jawhar had received the second place award and the third place award in the category of photography – special abilities.
Hiba Qutub, Assistant Head OT & Creative Unit, emphasized the importance of the participation in such events: “Dubai Autism Center very keen to involve the children with autism in the various activities in the community… also the Center aims to spread awareness on autism to all segments of the society, highlighting their special abilities in different areas,”
“I would like to thank H.H Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for her kind initiative and concern for special needs people,” she added.
Founded in November 2001, the Dubai Autism Centre is a non-profit organization providing various services to children with Autism. The Centre also works towards providing training workshops to professionals and parents as well as awareness projects.
